How do I book with you?
To book your session, reach out through the contact form on my website. From there, we’ll talk through your session type, preferred dates, and the overall look you want before reserving your spot. Or, if you are ready to book, you can do so online. Once you have, I'll reach out to confirm your session time and give you an overview of what to expect beforehand.
Tips for shy seniors?
You do not need to arrive feeling confident in front of the camera — that is what the session is for. The best tip is to relax, trust the process, and let yourself be guided. I’ll handle the posing, direction, and encouragement so you can feel comfortable and look like yourself.
How far in advance should I book my senior session?
Most seniors book a few months before they need their images, and sometimes earlier if they want a specific season or date. While peak season fills quickly, I do not overbook, which leaves room for rescheduling and the additional sessions.
Do you help with posing?
Yes — completely. You do not need to know how to pose or feel comfortable in front of the camera before you arrive. Jen guides every pose and expression so the experience feels easy, natural, and confidence-building.
What should I wear for my senior photos?
Wear outfits that feel like you and photograph well. During planning, we’ll talk through colors, textures, and outfit ideas so your look feels polished, personal, and timeless.
Can I choose my locations?
Absolutely. We’ll choose locations together based on the style you want — whether that’s studio, outdoor, urban, or a mix. Every session is planned to fit your personality and the overall vibe you want to create.
Where are sessions held in the Kansas City area?
Sessions take place throughout Kansas City, Overland Park, Johnson County, and surrounding areas. Studio, outdoor, and urban settings are all available depending on the look you’re going for.
How long is a senior portrait session?
Sessions are never rushed. I don't watch the clock. The length depends on the collection you choose, but the goal is always to give you enough time to feel comfortable, get variety, and enjoy the experience. You often hear me say, "just one more." :)
When will I receive my photos?
You’ll receive your edited gallery after post-processing is complete. Turnaround time will be shared when you book so you know exactly what to expect. The height of busy season can take up to four weeks.
Do you offer prints or albums?
Yes. Your images can be enjoyed as fine art prints, albums, and digital files, depending on your package. I believe portraits should live beyond your phone screen.
What if I’m awkward in front of the camera?
That’s exactly why I guide the entire session. Most seniors feel a little unsure at first, and that is completely normal. My job is to help you relax, feel comfortable, and leave with images you truly love.
